The prompt for Mrs Nesbitts ABC Wednesday photo won't be posted until tomorrow or Wednesday - but it will be "Z". I was frustrated by the problem described below, so looked in my computer archives for a substitute for my original plan.
I took this photo almost six years ago at the Denver zoo. Zoo isn't the Z I intended to use. I had set up a lovely still life of carved African zebras in a zigzag line, intending to call it "Zigzag Zebras from Zimbabwe". But it looks as though the lens of my digital camera has been somehow jiggled out of alignment. Fine thing, when I was counting on it for grandson Cedric's wedding (and gathering of the clans) in three weeks!
If I could take a picture of myself sleeping, I suppose I could label it ZZZ. Shamefully enough, I slept until almost noon today. I've really been getting my Zs.

What a "Z" laden post! As always a fascinating read!
My youngest son wanted me to take zoo for this post..and I would if I had a picture from a zoo.
Well I didn't:)
Nice post!
Fun post. Glad you have a sense of humour even though your camera is acting strange.
I was thinking of zoo as well but sadly we have no zoos here... I'm sorry to here of your camera! Such a shame.
Love the Zig-Zag Zebra bit!! Great Z'z. Shame about the camera!

That would have been great, but sorry you're disappointed. It's okay because I did Zoo, too, and have a shot of a rhino, like you. Come and check it out!
So sorry your camera didn't cooperate for the zigzag zebras from zimbabwe
This photo from the zoo is a great sub!
Well I think your 'z' post today looks 'cool' and that is definitely the sort of place I would like to be today, away from this hot, humid summer heat. Hope your camera woes get fixed before the wedding.
Thanks for your visit to mine.

Great and funny post for the letter!
Zoo is a nice choice for this letter.
Thank you for commenting om my Z-post.
Aside from Zoo being a proper "Z" - you could also use the German name for the Rhino (Rinozerus) to whip up an additional "Z". ;)
Good one!
Cheers, Klaus
You ended up with a fine Z post anyway. I hope your camera is okay. I don't think I've slept to noon in a very long time :)
I hope you continue to get all your Zzzz! I need it too...
A great shot of the Rhino at the Zoo. Wonderful Z for Zoo. Someone had to do it and this is the first I've seen so far...
Too bad about your lenses. But Zoo is a great Z.

Iz a nice zzz post granny.
Re; your previous post. How did your retreat fare in the fires? O.K.I hope. I know about the terror of bush fires coming from where I do. Your part of the world seems to be reported as suffering fires each year lately.
In Australia some places have Christmas in July celebrations when in winter as opposed to our hot December summer Christmas times. Concentrating on the feasting rather than the christian celebrations.
Lucky you, getting all those zzzz's!
Great post, too bad about your camera. I'll look forward to seeing the photo you'd planned in the next round!
Goodness, I can't imagine being without my camera functioning.
Love the zigzagging zebras from Zimbabwe idea. I hope you recreate it when your camera is fixed.
I wouldn't be the engine driver who hit that rhino!
PS I think the Zephyr was a Ford
I used ZZZZZZZZ's for snoring for ABC Wednesday.
Bear((( )))
Oh no, I'm so sorry your camera is broken. I don't know what i would do without a working camera. Great job coming up with an alternative.
Best laid plans, and all that...yes?
Loved this zoo shot because I don't know if these umm, homelier guys get as much press time as zebras! Thanks for sharing and good luck with the camera.
xxxx
Definately a worthy post. Hope the camera is sorted for the big event! I love a wedding! LOL!
...Zoo, and rhinocéros are amaZing topics !
No zebra...( zebra=zero )never mind
miss Yves
Thanks for visiting my blog for Z day. Your original idea was so creative, but what good luck you had a 2nd option!Hope the camera worries are sorted out in time for your family gathering.
By the way, did you make the necklaces? I make jewellery as well.
Zoos did well yesterday. And for once, I slept well last night - getting all those Zeees and Zeds must have been accumulative.
Now it is back to 'A'.
Oh, I can't think what the c might stand for either.
dear candace barbara - what a nice surprise for me to see the message - i always treasure what older people have to say about an issue.
zig-zag zebras from zimbabwe was a zany choice for abc wednesday too!
Good post. I hope your camera is sorted for the wedding!
I haven't visited before: you have a beautiful smile!
