O is for Oak

O My, O My! Denise Nesbitt's ABC Wednesday round 3 (with comments) and ABC Wednesday Anthology have passed the halfway mark and are all the way to the letter O.

This is a watercolor landscape of a California live Oak
that I painted in the hills back of the Stanford campus
many years ago. The photograph of the painting was
made only yesterday, however, when I found the painting
languishing among used boards in an under-the-stairs closet.

Gorgeous watercolor, Phyllis! I am so in love with that medium. . .and am always impressed with such soft colors and no muddiness [my style :O)]
Thank you for your kind words about 'bragging'--it would be wonderful to meet you and I can only hope!
BTW your new femo designs are great!

Hi Granny Smith,

That is an excellent watercolour painting. I like it very much. I also love oak trees, I have planted many in Britain, but here in Greece we also have oak trees, they are a little different and with huge acorns but still wonderful trees.

Well, I must say you're quite the artiste! Lovely watercolour and a shame it's been in hiding for allthat time! Keep it out now and appreciate what talent the good Lord has given you. It may even give you a nudge to do some more.

Amazing what treasures you find when looking in forgotten places.
It is a restful image that I am sure you enjoyed creating.

How I envy your ability! This is a truly lovely work of art. No wonder you included painting as one of your possible 'brags' the other day!

I came here quite by accident and stayed to meet your lovely family. My first thought was that I would love to be adopted by you and your husband, but then I remembered that I have my own lovely, wacky family.

So my question to you is this: are you up for adoption?

Peace,

You are quite an artist...   What other treasures do you have stashed away?

I wish I had the talent to do that but my sense of perspective is non existent and nothing ever looks remotely lifelike

I love the Live Oaks of southern Louisiana. The old plantation homes all had them. Your painting is beautiful.

Oh how could you have left that gorgeous painting to languish - I love it!

Thanks for stopping by at my place and taking the trouble to enlarge the image for a better look over at the ABC anthology. And an even bigger thank you for telling me you did so.
