Creative Creatures

The Sunday Scribblings prompt: Compose.

COMPOSERS
(Haiku Sequence)

Drawn on grey dawn sky
bird-notes on a staff of wires
write their own music.

Snail who has feasted,
in silver calligraphy
leaves his thank-you note.

Butterflies flutter
brightly multi-colored wings,
inventing flowers.

These are just lovely, Granny Smith! I especially love the image of the snail leaving its "silver calligraphy"--wonderful!

I've never heard of a more romantized version of a snail! :D These are great - creatures that compose is a great take on the prompt! :)

I had never thought of it in that way but your words are so true.. As the birds sit across the telephone wires they do look like little music notes. I just loved all of these creative haikus gran! Beautiful!

What beautiful images your words conjure up in my mind.

I love it! Who would have ever thought of a snails trail as poetry...a thank you! Thank YOU for your words!

ah yes, the bird notes were my favorite too. Can you imagine playing the song they sing...now which one is the whole note--the one all balled up with his head under his wing, perhaps. You write great poems.

I love all three haikus! The bird imagery is my favourite, but I'm amazed that I liked the snail one - I usually hate snails and their yucky trails :) Beuatiful haikus.

Wonderful transformations, invented flowers and thank-you notes (snail's my favorite). Sweet internal rhymes careening as well. Peace, Granny Smith.

had to laugh at that second one,, as i kept finding such calligraphy on a burgundy bed sheet.... only to find out my dog had brought in the most enormous snail/slug i have ever seen,, and deposited it , alive, in my bed!!!!!!!

this was a pleasure.....

Each haiku has a fascinating twist. But I love the concept of butterflies inventing flowers.

Utterly beautiful!

At first I was going to tell you how I loved the first line, but then I realized I loved every line. Plus I feel you did wonders with the subject. I find myself enjoying the way you are perceiving the world.

Sorry. I've already read these and commented, but I had to come read them again. They are just that good.
