TIME TRAVELERS

The prompt for for Sunday Scribblings is "It's Out There"

TIME TRAVELERS
We sought this day in many a tale
of rocket trail to alien world.
We bridged the rifts of space to sail
to far star-studded galaxies
with chair-bound ease.

The future beckoned.  Now, instead,
it looms, hard headlined fact.  Our world
grows strange.  We step with grudging tread
into a mapless land and cold.
       Too soon
       Too old.

It's a strange old world we live in, and we are not being told the half of what is going on - or has gone on.

Yours is a sad reflection on life and mans foolish dreams. We are all time travelers and must enjoys those realms that are within our reach. It is just that I want more.

Things advance at such a rate today. I think I'll just stay chair-bound and watch from a distance!
