Mrs. Nesbitt's
ABC Wednesday round 5 is well launched with
B already the letter of the week. For other participating blogs click on the link above.
O.K.! So I'm cheating! I didn't really make it for the first of round 5 last week, so I am putting in a double post this week.
First:
A for
Agapanthus, better known as Nile lily. These pictures and those of the begonias were taken about three weeks ago.
Please be sure to click on the photos to enlarge. Here is closeup of a single blossom This one is blooming at the bottom of the stairs down from the street to our front door.
And these are in the inner patio in front of my geranium bed.And now B for Begonia
These pink and white begonias in the outer patio share a basket with lobelia.
A closer look at the begonias and lobelia. And finally a modest little yellow begonia that I have great hopes for.

You do have some very nice flowers. I especially liked that close-up of the Agapanthus - a real pleasure.
I love both of these plants.
My Agapanthus doesn't seem to have many flowers. Just the one this year. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Very lovely flowers I also like the area around them.
Btw, I answered your question on my blog.
Have a great day.
Oh Granny! these are LOVELY!!! I'm just learning about flowers since my fiance is really into gardening. He's hung 8 fuschias along the patio ceiling area, and put in cosmos, African daisies, and 5 rose bushes for me. AND he brings me cut flowers all the time, too! I must get some of those agapanthas - already do have some orange begonias. Love this post today! :D
Agapanthus is one of my favourites :)
Lovely flowers!
Have a nice Wednesday!
Love both flowers! you must have such a beautiful garden.
Beautiful and healthy looking flowers - HOWEVER, I'm totally in love with the tree trunk in the background - It's spectacular! A lovely patio area.
yes, they are lovely indeed. Or more appropriately, Beautiful.
I love the Agapanthus--so elegant. Wish I could grow them where I live. But it's too cool in the winter. The closeup is a lovely image.
I love begonias. This year my orange and yellow ones are planted with my nasturtiuns. Lovely post! So glad to have you aboard for Round 5!
Dxx
Very nice blooms and shots!
Your garden looks lovely and peaceful! I always love agapanthus in other people's gardens, but have never planted any. OH thinks they are 'leggy'. He thinks anything which isn't actually bushy is 'leggy'.
Huh. Men.
I'm gonna plant some anyway! ;)
I have become enamored of daylilies the past two years, but I don't have an agapanthus--yours is a beauty! And the basket of begonias with lobelia is lovely.
I have a small pot of white begonias that have just bloomed and bloomed all summer.
I do think yours in the basket are very beautiful.

Oh, I just LOVE your flowers. That first close up is outstanding. And I love your little yellow flower that you have high hopes for. You give me high hope Granny Smith : )
new look for the blog ? beautiful :) ! and nice post indeed !!
Hi Gigi!
All of your flowers are so lovely! When I think of your home I think of all of the fragrant flower smells outside and inside. Outside it's wisteria that comes to mind and inside it's stargazer lilies. Aaahhhhh!
xoxo
Begonia is my favourite flower - especially if it cascades!
You have a green thumb. Lovely!
I don't know why, but Old Grizz loves Begonias. Maybe it's the word or maybe it comes from an old comedy routine about Ruby Begonia" Putting them with the lobelias makes a beautiful picture.
My partner has an Agapanthus fetish. I wrote about it on my post 'Home for wayward Agapanthus'.
